who have decided to have children left and are raising them elsewhere. There are less societal norms and pressures about owning property, and the lifestyle is about being healthy and getting outdoors. There are plenty of service jobs that can allow someone to have minimal responsibility, focus on their interests and have a pursuit of the artsYou're right, but my guess is that this link is due to married men in general feeling less isolation and loneliness, both of which have repeatedly been proven to be awful for your health. However, social and cultural changes have probably made it more viable-at least in certain places-to have a fulfilling social and romantic life without being married. I suspect there is likely a huge variation in the link between marriage and life expectancy depending on locale and individual lifestyle.
